Barge cleaning is hydrocarbon residue in a confined space next to water. Hasten Cleanse is a water-based concentrate that lifts crude, fuel, and product residue from cargo tanks, bilges and decks, suppresses the vapor while it works, and does it in salt water as well as fresh. No flash point goes aboard, and the wash water is non-hazardous.

Where It Works Aboard

Cargo tanks

Crude, fuel oil, diesel, product residue. Spray or circulation at 1:20, 1:10 for heavy bottoms.

Bilges and machinery spaces

Oil and fuel film. Spray and wash at 1:50 to 1:20.

Decks and equipment

Hydrocarbon film on steel and non-skid. Pressure wash at 1:50.

Slop tanks

Mixed residue and emulsion. Circulate at 1:10 to 1:20 with warm water if available.

What Hasten Cleanse does not do

It is not a solvent and not a caustic. It will not dissolve, melt, or strip material that is physically bonded or baked onto a surface: scale, rust, hardened deposits, coatings. It lifts hydrocarbons, oil, grease, crude, sludge, and paraffin, by emulsifying them, and it needs agitation, circulation, pressure, or heat to do that work. If your problem is a stuck-on solid rather than a hydrocarbon film or residue, tell us and we will say so.

Does it work in salt water?

Yes. Dilution in salt or fresh water performs the same.

Will it get a tank to gas-free by itself?

It suppresses vapor and lowers readings during the wash. Gas-free certification is still the marine chemist's call under the normal procedure.

Is it safe on coatings and gaskets?

Non-corrosive to steel, aluminum, copper alloys, and Viton, Buna-N, and EPDM gaskets. Test on unusual coatings first.

Does it remove scale or rust?

No. It lifts hydrocarbon residue. It is not a solvent or caustic.

How does it ship?
